UNDERDOGS
No, I don’t care for colonizers, womanizers, or sympathizers
of causes that affect those who are already in diminished capacities,
which probably accounts for enough people that if they were
stacked on top of each other would reach to one of the outer planets.
I’ve always identified with the underdog as far back as I can remember,
as I consider myself to be one of them—an underdog searching for a bone
with a little meat on it to make it through another day.
Meet the Author:
Jeffrey Zable is a teacher, accomplished conga drummer/percussionist who plays for dance classes and rumbas around the San Francisco Bay Area, and a writer of poetry, flash-fiction, and non-fiction. He's published five chapbooks and his writing has appeared in hundreds of literary magazines and anthologies,
more recently in Uppagus, The Paradox, Cacti Fur, Witcraft, Verbal Art, and many others. His selected poetry (from Androgyne Books) should be out by the end of the year.
